So yesterday we went to the beach on the Gold Coast and OH MY GOSH it is SO pretty! The sand is like powder, and the beaches are so white! Not to mention (as you will see in one of the pictures) there are some pretty cute lifeguards! And this is the winter season...I'll take it! So ya anyways we just hung out at the beach for a few hours and then when we got back to the school we walked over to the new shopping center that is right behind the dorm I'm in. It's pretty awesome cuz it has a sushi restaurant, an italian restaurant, a Subway, a mini grocery store, and some other cute shops over there and it's super close. Last night we had trivia night and so we got a team together and went over to the student center to play. We thought we were doing pretty good...except we came in second to last. So ya. Not so good. We still had fun though! And then we came back to the dorms and watched Just Friends cuz a few people haven't seen it yet. I have had a few other girls move onto the floor in the last day or so. Courtney is super nice and she is from Canberra. She has like the most Aussie Australian accent of anyone I have met over here yet! And then another girl moved in and her name is Frances and she is from China. Finally someone who lives on my floor who isn't from Australia! Her English isn't great, but she seems really nice. Although we are still waiting for the other girls to move in...we have our eye out for the messy one who will be coming back this quarter. When we moved in, Susan and I were going through our kitchen in our commons area looking to see what supplies we had for our kitchen (which ended up being nothing, so I had to go buy a bunch of kitchenware.) The only thing we found in the cabinets was a pile of dirty dishes that still had food in them and were shoved into a corner. It was disgusting. So instead of having to keep smelling them, Susan and I decided we would clean them which was so gross. We ended up throwing a few things away because they were so caked with food, and a lot of the dishes had hair stuck to them. It makes me want to gag just thinking about it! So anyways we cleaned what we could. Whoever's dishes they were had 7 shot glasses in the pile. We ended up throwing 3 of them away because they were so gross, so this person still has 4 shot glasses. Gee, I hope that's enough (I'm being sarcastic...) So we have our eyes out for the culprit, hopefully they won't be coming back this semester! I will have some more pictures of the university coming up shortly, but here are some more pictures for you!
